چکیده

Abstract Background The ladybird beetle Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant, 1853 (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) is used worldwide as a biological control agent. It predator of various mealybug pests, but it also feeds on alternative prey and can be reared artificial diets. Relatively little known about the underlying genetic adaptations its feeding habits. Results We report first high-quality genome sequence for C. . found that gene families encoding chemosensors digestive detoxifying enzymes among others were significantly expanded or contracted in comparison to published genomes other beetles. Comparisons diet-specific larval development, survival transcriptome profiling demonstrated differentially expressed genes unnatural diets compared natural enriched pathways nutrient metabolism, indicating lower performance tested was caused by nutritional deficiencies. Remarkably, showed significant expansion an immune effector family. Some dramatically downregulated when larvae fed Conclusion suggest evolution related chemosensing, digestion, detoxification immunity might associated with diet adaptation insect predator. These findings help explain why this predatory has become successful agent will enable optimization mass rearing use programs.

Genomic Insight into the Role of lncRNAs in Cancer Susceptibility

With the development of advanced genomic methods, a large amount of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been found to be important for cancer initiation and progression. Given that most of the genome-wide association study (GWAS)-identified cancer risk SNPs are located in the noncoding region, the expression and function of lncRNAs are more likely to be affected by the SNPs. The SNPs may affect ...
